Awards, accolades and recent accomplishments
In the last few years, NuComm has grown by leaps and bounds. We’re proud of our recent accomplishments. They have helped to reinforce our status as Canada’s leading provider of contact center services.
Here are just a few notable corporate achievements of the past couple of years:
- Recognition for excellence and quality environment
Continuing the company’s commitment to a quality environment for both clients and employees. NuComm was recently named a recipient of the Gold Trophy for the National Quality Institute’s Canada Awards for Excellence™ and achieved the prestigious Contact Centre Employer of Choice™ (CCEOC) Standard level award for all of its remaining sites.
- Named Canada’s Best Managed Company, six years in a row
From 2001 to 2006, NuComm has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, an award that speaks to our committed focus to creating a work environment of excellence.
- Successful launch of Call Centres for Dummies
NuComm has also affirmed our industry leadership by the successful launching of Call Centres for Dummies, a new best-selling book on the “NuComm way” by NuComm founder and CEO Réal Bergevin. This definitive industry guide to running a successful call centre, now reprinted and distributed worldwide, was first published in spring 2005 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
- Launch of credit division
In 2005 NuComm launched a new division, NuComm Credit Services, to leverage our contact centre competencies in the field of collections, receivables management and other credit-related services. NuComm’s October 2005 acquisition of Federal Credit & Consulting Corp., a collections company based in Regina, added even more bench-strength to this initiative.
- Sales volume and revenue doubled in 2005 for automated voice services
Through 2005, NuComm rapidly doubled (by volume and revenue) the client base of our automated voice response service bureau and application development business. A separate Toronto sales office was opened in 2005 to meet the demands of this growing division. Sales/volume both continue to grow through 2006.
- Four new offices in Canada and the US– 2000-plus new jobs created
Since fall of 2005, NuComm has opened four new contact centres (bringing total worldwide facilities to 14) in order to adapt to and meet/exceed growing business demands:
- Chatham, Ontario, September 2006—350 new jobs
- Barrie Ontario, June 2006—400 new jobs
- Wichita Kansas, July 2006—375 new jobs
- Lafayette Louisianna, August 2006—1000 new jobs
- Aggressive business development
NuComm has continuously engaged in aggressive business development, participating in over 100 formal Requests for Proposals in 2005 and so far in 2006. NuComm has scored more than two dozen significant contract wins, with some involving new work for existing clients and other major wins in entirely new sectors (e.g., government). Recent major wins include a significant 5-year American Embassy contract; customer care contracts for Indigo Books & Music as well as significant contracts with: Starz Entertainment, Promissor, Brighthouse, the US Embassy, Best Buy, Merlin, Wherify Wireless, ACTV8, Givex and Mountain Cable.
